Motor Vehicle Record Premium Online Services

Access to the services below is governed by the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 2000 (DPPA). In order to use any of the services below, you must be authorized through one of the provisions of the DPPA. When signing up any of the servces below, you will be able to print a "Driver or Vehicle Data Information Request" for declaring which of the DPPA provisions authorizes you.

Sign Up in Three Easy Steps

  1. Create a TN.gov account.
  2. Print the appropriate service agreement and complete the included "Driver or Vehicle Data Information Request." For faster processing, provide:
    1. A copy of your professional business license
    2. A statement on your business letterhead identifying the nature of your business and describing how this information will be used
  3. Sign the agreement and mail all items to the address on the agreement.

 

Interactive Moving Violation Records

The Interactive Moving Violation Records Online Service (IMVR) allows you to retrieve driving history by searching with a Tennessee driver license number and last name.

 

Vehicle, Title, and Registration Inquiries

The Interactive Vehicle, Title, and Registration Online Service (IVTR) allows you to retrieve vehicle, title, and registration information for vehicles registered in Tennessee. Search with license plate or VIN.

Note: Authorization to access to IVTR can take up to 3-4 weeks for processing.

 

Driver License Inquiries

The Status Motor Vehicle Record Online Service (SMVR) allows you to verify information on a Tennessee driver license. Search by driver license number to see what is on file with the Dept. of Safety for that license number.
